Monthly Archives: February 2014

Tuesday 25 February – MAIN Meeting – 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Alex Zaharov-Reutt

We’re already well into the second month of 2014, and nearly into the third, but before we let February slip by, we have the Sydney PC Users Group monthly main meeting to experience first!

After last month’s stellar turnout for Microsoft, which sadly was postponed until April on the morning of the main meeting due to an unexpected flu virus taking out our Microsoft presenter, our guests for February are world-class and globally known accessories company, Kensington.

Our guest presenter is Sam Goldstein, manager – Marketing and Business Development, Kensington, who will “look at how devices are taking over technology. Looking at a range of trends and shifts like the move towards mobile payments as well as showing off products in Kensington’s range.”

We’re told that Kensington and Mr Goldstein will also “bring along some of their latest products for a hands-on experience as well as something for the raffle.”
Now, if you take a look at Kensington’s website, www.kensington.com, you can see an awesome range of top quality accessories for laptops, desktops, smartphones and tablets, and as Mr Goldstein says, we’ll not only get the low-down on the upside Kensington delivers to the booming accessories market, but we’ll also get a timely report on all the mobile trends and shifts that have fast become reality for so many of us in today’s modern world.

As you can see, February promises to be another rip-roaring event, where we’ll not only have the AGM to elect the new committee members, but also as many of our usual segments as possible, including a brief look at Toshiba’s latest 8.1-inch Windows 8.1 tablet which I currently have in my possession for review purposes – with Toshiba, HP and others being lined up to present to us later in the year.

So, see you at next week’s main meeting, complete with a raffle prize kindly donated by the Kensington crew!
Alex.
